Flight from Costa Rica

Just checked American Airlines and everything looks on time for their flight as they leave San Jose around 2:10 p.m.. They should arrive in Miami shortly after 7:00 p.m. It is in Miami that they will go through customs. Fun Fun!  Let’s hope there is no illegal contraband…  =)

Looking forward to seeing you

Seniors – On your last day, take a few moments on the flight home to thank the Lord for this tremendous opportunity that He has blessed you with and for all of the people who have supported you in so many ways.  Even write your prayer down on paper because once you land in Philly, all of the moments and memories will become muddled with thoughts of home and graduation and summer plans, etc.  There is clarity now, so make the most of it.  We look forward to seeing you tonight and hearing your stories!  Praying for you!

Day 2 Abraham Project

Today we had slightly better working weather as we broke down pallets to reuse the lumber to help build more structures around the facility.  We also prepped some walls in the daycare building by washing and taping up for painting to be done.

Shout out from Luke Parker!

Hey everybody! Mr. Markey was so kind as to allow me to send a message home to y’all, so here I am! Costa Rica is pretty epic. I’m so glad we came. I can’t eat most of the food here, but the people are accomadating, and I have been very well fed. Two nights ago I sprained my ankle, and for two days I’ve been on crutches, but tonight I started walking around again, albeit with a limp. Yay God! Tomorrow I get to hang out with kids ages 3-9 and help teach them English, so I’m pretty pumped about that.

A shout out goes to the 7th grade class (and to Kafran). I hope you guys have been using my gift! Kindness cannot be underestimated, and I am really reminded of that here. People have every oportunity to say mean things, or to make fun, or to just me mean. The cool thing is that they don’t do the mean things that tear people apart! They are so kind, and they just seem happy. God is working through them and doing amazing things. I just hope you guys aren’t forgetting kindness. Make me proud, homies, and fight the good fight.

-Luke
